Working oround this I now, put my SD card directly into my computer, but I would prefer if I could tether the camera, as that is far more efficient. That allowed me to download the EOS Utility 3, but when I attempted to tether my camera, the utility opened, trasferred one image and then crashed. I tried to work around the issue by telling Canon that I had the previous operating system. When I tried to dowload a fresh utility (I actually already had an EOS Utility on the computer) from the Canon website, I received a message that it did not support my operating system. When I attempted to tether my 5D Mark iv,( trying to calibrate a lens), I received a message that I need EOS Utility 3. I have recently upgraded my Mac Pro laptop’s operating system to Mojave 10.4.
